FREE-FLOWING RIVERS
River dam removal allows for a wide range of both ecological and financial restoration: For example, migratory fish species at the brink of extinction can be saved and new economic opportunities might emerge for the local communities. To ensure a sustainable removal, the EPCR team will encourage communities in rural areas to participate in the planning process. With experienced experts at hands, community members will create, explore and consider scenarios that can be adopted after the dam removal.
