SIMETO RIVER ALLIANCE
FOR BIODIVERSITY
Grassroots groups who fight for ecological recovery and protection of the Simeto River are part of a community/university partnership. They aim to generate transformative change and the revitalisation of biodiversity. For instance, they want to develop a widely acknowledged strategic plan for a more balanced development of the river valley, both economically and ecologically. This involves inclusive landscapes and innovative governance to improve the quality of the river and its associated biodiversity. It will also strengthen eco-museum management and efficiently counter ecosystem over-exploitation. For additional value, collective action will be taken and knowledge will be gathered.
